Lizet, Jeroen and Marty are three entrepreneurs with extensive experience in energy, sustainability and marketing. United by their love for Southern Africa, they combined forces to launch Sosimple.

In Southern Africa, electricity is notoriously expensive, with rising costs from the primary energy provider outstripping inflation. This has made energy a dirty business, with very few affordable clean alternatives.

Lizet
She brings a mix of technical expertise, operational leadership, and cross-cultural experience, having worked across Europe, Asia, and Africa in both startups and corporates..
Marty
Marty spent nearly 20 years at The Boston Consulting Group, where he led the Technology and Consumer Goods practices in the Netherlands and co-founded the global sustainability practice. He has deep experience in the (South) African market and in B2B sustainability solutions.
He is also involved in Refurb Battery, which gives eMobility batteries a second life in circular energy storage systems.
Jeroen
He served on the supervisory boards and represented shareholders in over 10 companies across Europe. Jeroen also has experience in renewable energy project finance from his time at ABN AMRO.
Our team
At Sosimple Energy, our team is united by a passion for sustainability and innovation. Founded by three experienced entrepreneurs, we combine deep expertise in energy, finance, and marketing.
Our director, Marty, has spent two decades advising large businesses across Africa, Europe, and beyond on growth, cost improvement, marketing, and strategy. CFO Jeroen brings over 20 years of banking and private equity experience, supporting small and medium-sized businesses on their path to growth and profitability. Global director Lizet, with a background in renewable energy engineering, oversees day-to-day operations at Sosimple.
In South Africa, Managing Director Liana leads efforts to address the energy crisis and reduce carbon emissions for commercial and industrial businesses. Lee-Will heads our in-house engineering team, managing both engineering and operations and maintenance.
We celebrate our diverse backgrounds, which enrich our end-to-end service offering, ensuring comprehensive and effective solutions for our clients. Our team members come from various professional and cultural backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and skills that drive our mission forward.
